The Basics

The following is a list of expectations of all players who attend a raid.
  • Know your class and what will be expected of you. If you don't know then contact an officer or council member BEFORE the raid.
  • Be at the entrance of the instance by INVITE time. DO NOT EXPECT A SUMMON.
  • Have all reagents needed by your class.
  • Have all mods listed below.
  • Have plenty of Buff food ready.
  • Have applicable potions/elixirs.
  • Have your own bandages with max First Aid skill. This means everyone, eventually you will need it regardless of your class.
  • Keep vent channel clear for raid leaders when applicable, but especially during a boss fight. We appreciate having an open atmosphere, but a boss fight is not the time.
  • KNOW THE FIGHTS THAT YOU WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN, read the strats, watch the videos. Wiping the raid repeatedly from boneheaded mistakes is NOT acceptable.
  • If you sign up and are on Approved List or Wait List you are required to be online between 8:15 to 8:30 pm EST for invites; if you have not contacted or removed your name prior to the Raid from the Wait List you will be penalized as a no-show.

Attitude

Basically, try to be polite.

If you are not performing at the level required to enable the guild to move forward in the raid, you will be notified in a whisper. We all make mistakes and hopefully they will be corrected asap. If they keep happening then it will be addressed as well. We all have bad nights, taking this in to consideration you may be asked to leave so we can enhance our chances at progressing through the raid.

The officers/raid leaders will not chastise in public and these conversations will be handled in whispers. We would appreciate it if all members show each other the same respect in vent.

Mods

The following is a list of mods that we require all raiders to be using. Some of the "requirements" may be a general type of mod to allow people to customize their experience. I will explain the purpose of each mod type and you can make your own choice as which specific mod to get.

Raid Frames and Raid assist mods:

This allows you to arrange the groups on your screen.

CT-raid can be found at http://www.ctmod.net

CT Raid Assist is the one you need so you know which target you should be hitting. Main tank targets and Focus Fire/DPS target http://www.ctmod.net

oRA2 is another Raid Assist mod that works with different unit frames and can be found at http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/ora2.aspx

Threatmeter:

This allows you to see how close you are to pulling aggro off of the main tank or if you are a tank it shows you how close you are to losing aggro.

Omen: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/9101/download/45138/

Damage Meters:

NONE- They are not required and no damage meters should be spammed in raid or guild chat at any time. We will run Webstats and post them after every raid.

Boss Mods:

These mods can make the difference on whether we wipe 10 times before you figure out what is going on or we just down the boss and move on. The mods make it easy to see critical warnings and remind you when you should and should not be doing something.

Deadly Boss mods is my first recommendation: http://www.deadlybossmods.com/

Another option is Bigwigs which can be found at http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/3299/

Deadly Boss mods is a bit more idiot proof but they both work well.

Ventrilo:

Voice communication software. It is imparative that you be able to listen. Mic isnt that important unless you plan on being a raid leader. We understand that from time to time there will be extenuating circumstances where you may not have all the mods.

Enemy Cast Bars:

It is important that you can see what your enemies are casting so you will be able to react accordingly. Several Unit frames show the targets cast bar. Another nice option is NECB http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/2786/download/47043/

I actually switched to Quartz a while back and I like it a lot better than NECB. You can get off wowace (09/12/08)

Extras:

There are several other class specific mods that make the raid go much smoother. If you can dispel/decurse/remove stuff then you need to have DECURSIVE http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/3011/

WowMatrix is a great addition to automatically keep all your mods up to date, install new ones, and remove unused ones. You can find it at http://www.wowmatrix.com

If there is something I have missed then please feel free to post below.

TELL IT LIKE IT IS

I would like to say that for all paladins regardless of spec, they should get Pally power.

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/3738/

What this does is allows 1 paladin to set up the raid paladin's buffs, and for the individuals, 1 quick and easy system to raid buff the raid.

Fun is fun, and Work is work. Raiding is both. Treat it as such.
